So the deadline for all isp’s to make it easy for the government to wiretap all internet communications including banking information is coming soon. I for one don’t want anyone snooping in my communications. But recently, it seems that the bush administration is continuing the push to destroy all our privacy. The government has been tapping our phone communications for years and it seems they are about to be able to grab our internet information. I’m sick of this shit so i am making a quick little tutorial so everyone can have privacy even if “the man” is watching.

First, Download This

After downloading , simply install. This will setup Tor and privoxy and will enable you to surf the internet thru an encrypted proxy server. Translation? tThe government can’t see shit you do, they can’t see where your surfing from and their wiretapping will be negated. But you need to understand that tor’s default port is 9050 and privoxy runs on port 8118.

So, if you want to use these tools simply set your browser to use a proxy server and use port 8118. Evertime you surf a webpage your browser will go to privoxy, privoxy will use tor and enter the tor network and set up the encrypted proxy. If you want to verify that your tor is setup good, then find out your ip address(Here), make a note of it. Then enable the tor proxy and go Here Again and verify that your ip has changed. So now, as long as you are using tor and privoxy you will appear to come from some other computer from somewhere else in the world. You are untraceable!
Oh yeah and you can use instant messenger programs with vidalia and the tor proxy. Do not use for file sharing though, the network is not designed to handle p2p traffic. If you do this you will degrade the network and make surfing ridiculously slow for everyone.
